 The village Sadzhavka is situated on the left bank of Prut river, and on both banks of Prut's tributary - small river Sadzhavochka. The village was named after this small river. The first settlers on the banks of the Prut tributaries appeared in 15 century. They were fugitives from the Tatar of Rohatyn and Snyatyn who were escaping to the river Prut into the Carpathians, in the impenetrable forests, away from janissary. Prut in those days was big river and often overflow of the coast, flooding the surrounding fields. Settle on its banks were unprofitable. And its small tributaries creating favorable conditions for living. Rivers, which began under the Dilki (forest near village) was slow, had many bends, after rain embossed large and deep pit, where the first hunters in these pits installed special baskets for growing fish. Almost every resident of the settlement had its basket. The river was named Sadzhavochkoyu after these baskets (called Sazh ).
